Felt Plushies
Stuffed creatures from a few stitches.
Felt plushies are small stuffed shapes sewn from felt by hand. You cut pieces from a pattern, stitch them together with embroidery floss or thread, and stuff them with polyfill before closing the seam.
Felt is forgiving. It doesn't fray, holds its shape, and takes a needle without much resistance. Most patterns use blanket stitch or whip stitch, both of which are easy to learn from a quick video.
Beginner projects are small: an animal, a fruit, a tiny ghost. The whole thing fits in your hand. More ambitious plushies add embroidered faces, multiple colors, or fabric details on top of the base shape.
You’ll love felt plushies if…
- you want a hobby with the lowest possible setup.
- your hands like small, deliberate work.
- you'd keep them or give them away as gifts.
